No scuba certification is required to explore the Underwater Museum (MUSA).
Non-certified guests can join through our Try Scuba program, which includes a basic training session at 10:00 AM before the 12:30 PM boat departure. Instructor guidance, water comfort, and standard safety requirements apply.

Try Scuba at MUSA (Beginner Dive)

This experience takes place at approximately 10 meters (33 feet), which makes it accessible to non-certified guests under professional supervision. If you’ve never dived before, you can still experience MUSA through our beginner-friendly options.

No certification required. When sea and visibility conditions allow, we can do a Try Scuba experience in the MUSA area — a controlled, guided introduction to scuba at shallow depth.
Availability depends on weather, sea state, and visibility. Safety is non-negotiable.

Certified Diver MUSA Dives

For certified divers seeking a refined experience, enjoy a smooth, premium guided dive through the Underwater Museum. Your dive includes a detailed briefing, buoyancy-conscious guidance to protect the sculptures, optimized routing through the main galleries, and dedicated time for underwater photography.

MARINE LIFE YOU MAY SEE

sea turtles, nurse sharks, stingrays, moray eels, and large schools of tropical fish. Angelfish, parrotfish, barracudas, and seasonal eagle rays are frequent highlights, making every reef tank dive a vibrant and memorable underwater experience within the Mesoamerican Reef system.

How the Day Works

Step 1
Check-in

TRY SCUBA 10am to 12pm training
CERTIFIED DIVERS check in 11:45am equipment fit
BOAT DEPARTURE 12:30 pm

Step 2
Safety Briefing

Clear, calm, and beginner-friendly. We cover dive rules, communication, positioning and the complete dive plan before entering the water.

Step 3
returning time

After completing your dives, we head back to base around 4 PM — relaxed, smiling, and full of new memories from your underwater adventure.
