GET SCUBA CERTIFIED IN CANCÚN IN TWO DAYS
Your SSI Open Water Diver certification takes two days in the water with Vision Oceanos. You complete the theory online before you travel, so your time in Cancún goes where it matters: in the Caribbean, with your instructor and no more than four students per group.
STEP 01
Theory Before You Fly
Your SSI digital materials arrive before your trip. Study in the MySSI app at your own pace and complete the final exam before you land.
STEP 02
Day One
10:00 theory review, 11:00 confined water skills, then two ocean dives from 12:00 to 16:00.
STEP 03
Day Two
Skills review in confined water, then your final two ocean dives. Four ocean dives in total.
STEP 04
Certified for Life
Your SSI Open Water Diver certification is issued digitally on completion, recognized worldwide and stored in your MySSI app.

SCUBA CERTIFICATION CANCÚN — FAQ
How long does it take to get scuba certified in Cancún?
Two days for SSI Open Water Diver. You complete the theory online before your trip, then spend each day on a theory review, confined water skills and two ocean dives. Four ocean dives in total.
How much does scuba certification cost in Cancún?
SSI Open Water Diver is $395 USD per person, including SSI course materials, full scuba equipment, boat, instructor and your digital certification card. Wetsuit rental ($10 USD, optional) and the marine park reef conservation contribution ($10 USD) are always separate.
What is the minimum age to get certified?
Ten years old. Divers under 18 need a parent or guardian present to sign the SSI liability waiver.
I only have one day. Can I still get certified?
Yes. The SSI Scuba Diver program is completed in a single day: two open water dives to 12 meters under direct professional supervision, for $295 USD.
I started my course at home. Can I finish it in Cancún?
Yes, through the SSI referral program. Choose the Full Referral ($295 USD) or the Partial Referral ($195 USD) depending on what you completed. The only requirement is that your Referral Diver record is visible in your MySSI app before the ocean dives.
Is SSI certification recognized worldwide?
Yes. SSI Open Water Diver is an internationally recognized entry-level certification, equivalent to PADI Open Water Diver. Compare SSI and PADI.
