CANCÚN DAILY DIVING

WHAT TO EXPECT — CANCÚN DIVES

Everything below applies to our daily boat dives departing from Cancún. As a certified diver, you go straight into the water — no classroom time required. Afternoon dives around the bay, including MUSA at roughly 10 meters, check in at 11:30 AM with the boat departing at 12:00 PM and returning to shore by 4:00 PM. For deeper dives at Punta Cancún or The Wreck, we run an earlier departure — 7:30 AM check-in, boat leaving at 8:00 AM — which opens once a minimum of three divers are booked. Either way, groups stay small, so your instructor’s attention stays on you and the reef, not on managing a crowd.

SCHEDULE

Two Departure Times

Bay dives (~10m): 11:30 AM check-in, 12:00 PM departure, return ~4:00 PM. Deep dives (Punta Cancún, The Wreck): 7:30 AM check-in, 8:00 AM departure — opens with a minimum of three divers.

INCLUDED

Full Gear & Boat

BCD, regulator, mask, fins, boat transport, and water are included in every certified dive package. Wetsuit rental ($10 USD) and the reef conservation contribution ($10 USD) are the only add-ons.

SAFETY FIRST

Surface Intervals, Respected

We follow minimum 12-hour surface intervals between shallow dives and 24 to 48 hours for repetitive or saturation diving, so your schedule stays safe if you’re diving multiple days or flying soon after.

NEW TO DIVING AGAIN?

Refreshers & Progressive Plans

Away from diving for over a year? We recommend starting with the afternoon bay dives to ease back into it comfortably, then we’ll build a progressive dive plan from there. Refresher sessions are also welcome — check-in at 10:00 AM, in the water by 12:00 PM.

Cenote Diving and the Cozumel 2-Dive Package follow separate full-day itineraries with their own departure times, transport and inclusions. Full schedules and itineraries are published on each experience page — see Cenote Diving and Cozumel 2-Dive Package.

WHERE YOU’LL DIVE

CANCÚN’S DIVE SITES, COMPARED

Every dive is weather-dependent and confirmed daily against the Capitanía de Puerto report. Here’s what each site actually offers.

10M · INSIDE THE BAY

MUSA

The Underwater Museum of Art sits inside the bay, sheltered from open-water conditions. Sculptures doubling as artificial reef make this the most accessible site — suitable for all certified levels.

16M · OUTSIDE THE BAY

Punta Cancún

Open-water reef diving with noticeably stronger currents than MUSA. A step up in intensity, better suited to divers comfortable with drift conditions.

24M · 2 MILES OFFSHORE

The Wreck

Only run in perfect weather, 2 miles offshore. The deepest and most demanding of the three — a highlight for divers looking for something beyond reef diving.

GOOD TO KNOW

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What certification do I need?

An Open Water certification (SSI, PADI, or equivalent) is required for certified diver experiences. If you trained elsewhere, bring your certification card or have it visible in your diving app.

Is Cozumel diving part of the standard package?

No — Cozumel is a separate 2-dive package ($320 USD) run on its own schedule, distinct from the Cancún reef and MUSA dives.

When can I see bull sharks or whale sharks?

Bull sharks are a winter-only encounter and never offered May through October. Whale sharks are a summer-only snorkeling experience, not a scuba dive.

What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?

Every dive is checked daily against the official Capitanía de Puerto report. If conditions aren’t safe, we reschedule or adjust the site — your safety comes before the itinerary.
