GO DEEPER WITH CONFIDENCE
The SSI Deep Diver Specialty Cancún course trains you to plan and conduct dives between 18 and 40 meters safely. You will master gas management, depth and time planning, narcosis awareness, and the procedures that turn deep dives from intimidating into controlled, repeatable adventures.
It is also a prerequisite for the SSI Master Diver rating and the gateway into technical diving. Because Cancún’s reefs top out near 24 meters, your deep training dives are conducted in Cozumel or the cenotes — the only sites in our region that consistently reach 30 meters and beyond.
The Deep Diver Specialty Cancún program is ideal for certified divers who want to explore deeper reefs, wrecks, and walls with confidence. Over your training dives you will practice managing bottom time, monitoring gas consumption at depth, recognizing and responding to nitrogen narcosis, and executing safe ascents with proper safety stops. Every dive is led personally by an SSI instructor, with small group sizes that keep the focus on your skills and your safety throughout the course.

ONE TO TWO DAYS · CERTIFIED FOR LIFE
ONLINE THEORY — MYSSI
Deep diving physics, gas planning, narcosis, equipment and emergency procedures. Completed online at your own pace before arrival.
DIVE PLANNING & BRIEFING
Your SSI instructor reviews your dive plans, gas calculations and depth management one-on-one before each dive.
3+ DEEP TRAINING DIVES
A minimum of three open-water dives progressing through 18m, 24m and 30m+, conducted in Cozumel or the cenotes.
SSI SPECIALTY CERTIFICATION
Receive your SSI Deep Diving specialty card — valid globally, issued digitally via MySSI.
Prerequisite: SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent. Minimum age 15 years. Pre-flight surface interval applies — minimum 24 hours after deep dives before flying.
PRICING & WHAT’S INCLUDED
The specialty fee covers your training and certification. Dives are arranged separately depending on where you complete the course, so you only pay for what your specialty actually requires.
SSI course materials, MySSI digital training, instruction and certification. Does not include the dives.
Important: Deep Diver requires dives reaching 30–40m, only possible in Cozumel or the cenotes — not on Cancún’s reefs. The number of dives depends on the specialty. Marine park conservation contribution (+$10 USD) and wetsuit rental (+$10 USD) are always extra. Contact us and we will build the exact package around your dates and dive site.
