The Perfect Buoyancy Specialty Cancún course is the single most valuable specialty a certified diver can take. You will master neutral buoyancy, body trim, weighting and breathing control — the skills that lower your air consumption, extend your bottom time and let you glide through the water without touching the reef.
It is the foundation for underwater photography, deep diving and every advanced course that follows. Conducted right here in Cancun at MUSA and the reef corridor, with calm, shallow conditions ideal for refining control.
The Perfect Buoyancy Specialty Cancún course suits any certified diver who wants to stop fighting the water and start moving through it efficiently. Across the training dives you will fine-tune your weighting, learn precise finning techniques, and practice hovering motionless in mid-water. Better buoyancy means lower air consumption, longer dives, safer ascents, and far less impact on the fragile reef — a skill that pays off on every dive you make afterwards, anywhere in the world.

2 BUOYANCY DIVES
Two open-water dives focused on hovering, trim, finning technique and air efficiency at MUSA and the Cancun reef.
SSI SPECIALTY CERTIFICATION
Receive your SSI Perfect Buoyancy specialty card — valid globally, issued digitally via MySSI.
Prerequisite: SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent. Minimum age 10 years. Pre-flight surface interval applies — minimum 12 hours after shallow dives before flying.
PRICING & WHAT’S INCLUDED
The specialty fee covers your training and certification. The dives are arranged separately, so you only pay for what your specialty actually requires.
SSI course materials, MySSI digital training, instruction and certification. Does not include the dives.
Important: Perfect Buoyancy is completed in Cancun at MUSA and the reef corridor — no Cozumel transfer required. Two open-water dives are included in the dive package. Marine park conservation contribution (+$10 USD) and wetsuit rental (+$10 USD) are always extra. Contact us and we will build the exact package around your dates.
