The SSI Advanced Adventurer certification expands your diving envelope. You complete 5 adventure dives across different specialties — including a deep dive to 30 meters — and develop the skills to handle a wider range of conditions and environments.
Prerequisite: SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent certification from any recognized agency. No minimum logged dives required beyond your OWD qualification.
DEEP TO 30 METERS
Your first certified dive to 30m — expanded narcosis awareness, gas management, and deep reef navigation.
5 ADVENTURE SPECIALTIES
Deep, navigation, plus 3 additional specialties. Each dive counts toward full SSI specialty certifications.
COZUMEL INCLUDED
Your deep adventure dive is completed in Cozumel — the only site in our area consistently reaching 30m in optimal conditions.
ADVENTURE DIVES
YOUR 5 ADVENTURE DIVES
You choose 3 electives from the available specialties. Deep and Navigation are mandatory components of the AOWD certification.
DEEP DIVE — MANDATORY
30 meters in Cozumel. Gas planning, depth awareness, narcosis management, and deep reef navigation.
NAVIGATION — MANDATORY
Compass navigation, natural navigation cues, and dive pattern execution on the reef.
PERFECT BUOYANCY
Mastery of trim, buoyancy control, and air consumption — the single skill that improves every future dive.
UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY
Composition, lighting, and camera handling underwater. Documenting the reef, the MUSA sculptures, and marine life.
REEF ECOLOGY
Marine identification, coral reef ecosystems, and responsible diving practices in protected areas.
