You completed your SSI Open Water Diver academic training and confined water skills at home — and now you want to finish your certification dives somewhere worth remembering. The Caribbean reef in Cancún is exactly that place.
Bring your SSI Referral Diver card (visible in your MySSI account) and we take care of the rest. You complete your 4 qualifying open water dives with our SSI certified instructor and receive your full OWD certification upon completion.

COMPLETE 4 OPEN WATER DIVES

Your SSI Open Water Diver certification is issued digitally upon completion. Valid for life, recognized globally.

Who is the Open Water Full Referral for?
For divers who completed the SSI Open Water Diver theory and confined water training with their home dive center and now want to make their four certification ocean dives in Cancún. Your SSI Referral Diver card must be active in your MySSI account before your first dive.
What is the difference between the Full Referral and the Partial Referral?
The Full Referral ($295 USD) includes all four open water dives over two days. The Partial Referral ($195 USD) is for divers who already made their first two ocean dives at home and only need their final two dives, completed in one day.
Is the Full Referral the same as the SSI Scuba Diver course?
No, even though both cost $295 USD. The Full Referral completes an Open Water Diver course you already started at home and certifies you to 18 metres with a buddy. The SSI Scuba Diver course is for new divers with no previous training: one day, two ocean dives, certified to 12 metres and always diving with a dive professional.
Where will I make my four open water dives?
On the reefs of Cancún’s bay and at the MUSA underwater museum, with your SSI instructor and a small group of no more than four divers.
What is included in the $295 USD price?
Four open water dives over two days with an SSI instructor, full scuba equipment, boat and crew, water on board, and your SSI Open Water Diver digital certification in MySSI. Wetsuit rental ($10 USD, optional) and the marine park reef conservation contribution ($10 USD) are extra.
